What is a Cleanser ?
Cleansing is the first step in any skin care routine that we use to remove the remains of dirt and oil, makeup, sunscreen, pollution, and general accumulation of dead skin cells. The skin surface is constantly exposed to external factors that can alter its appearance and cause imperfections, dull complexion, irregular texture or premature aging. Therefore, to keep the skin clean we need cleansing. Cleansing should be done twice a day – once in the morning and once in the evening. It helps unclog pores and prevent breakouts, and it also helps prepare the skin for the rest of the steps in your skin care routine by creating a clean canvas.
You need an alcohol-free cleanser to keep your skin healthy to avoid removing too much oil. If you have dry skin you may need a more hydrating oil-based cleanser.
Cleansers come in two forms: water-based and oil-based.
- Water-based cleanser
How to use
Before applying serums, moisturizers and sunscreen, massage onto wet skin and pat dry before rinsing with water.
- Oil-based cleanser
Some oil-based cleansers work best on wet skin, while others work best on dry skin. It suitable for all skin types. Oil-based cleansers remove oil from the skin. They are equipped to remove all debris that water-based cleansers will not be able to attract. The outermost layer of your skin produces natural oils that are good for your skin. An oil-based cleanser preserves these natural oils. This ensures that there is no irritation, dryness or inflammation.
