Bronzer & Highlighter
Bronzer is one powder with tanning and skin lighting properties, while the highlighter is meant to enhance certain areas of the face by reflecting light from the skin to shine. When a bronzer and a highlighter are applied, they strike a proper balance. Use the highlighter on the high points of the face, like the cheekbone, brow bone, bridge of the nose, and cupid's bow. How to apply bronzer:
For makeup purposes, an even and balanced bronze shade can therefore be created by applying the darkest shade at the tops of your cheekbones and separating the rest of your skin from the hairline of your forehead. A cream highlighter is also available in a range of colors to suit almost any individual's skin tone; it can be subtle or sheer, depending on what you're after.
Liquid highlighters are less textured than cream or powder highlighters. They can easily be mixed with foundation or moisturizer, giving a more all-around glow which is all over the face, or can be placed specifically on areas where highlighting is. Since liquid highlighters are used under makeup, the look is even more subtle.
Stick is a user-friendly and easy-to-apply type of highlighter that gives a buildable glow which could either be subtle or very intense, which depends on the amount of product applied. These waxy products are in a bendable, crayon-like tube meant for direct application onto the skin.
How to apply Highlighter:
1. Cheekbones: The most common place to use highlighter which gives a lifted look to the face is by applying it on the cheeks. Blend the product upward in a C shape from your cheekbones to your temples for a lifted look. If you are using a powder product we recommend using a fan brush. If you're using cream or liquid, use your fingers to apply a dot of highlighter to each cheek. Remember to blend it well to avoid any straight lines.
2. Browbones: Like the inner corners, highlighting your brow bones — that is, the skin just below your arches — can help lift your brows and make you look more awake. This is one of the key areas of the look that catches the light, so it makes sense to highlight this integral part of the facial bone structure. To make your eyes look attractive, apply highlighter just below the eyebrows. Use a small amount of highlighter as soon as you're in the area and be light when applying the product.
3. Cupid's bow: Your Cupid's bow is the small depression in the center of your top lip. Apply a little highlighter to Cupid's bow. To apply natural highlighter, take whatever is left on your finger or your fan brush and apply it to your cupid's bow to avoid overdoing it. It helps your lips look more plump and shapely.
4. Inner corners of your eyes: Your makeup look will not get spoiled if you sleep. You can brighten your eyes and create a wide-eyed look by applying a little highlighter around the inner corners of your eyes.
5. Center of eyelids: Another great way to make your eyes sparkle is to apply a light highlight to the center of your lids. However, adding a bit of lashes to the center of your lashes can help make your eyes look larger, brighter, and more alert. But if you aim for dark smokey eye makeup then avoid using it.
6. Bridge of your nose: Adding a small touch of highlighter to the bridge of your nose can help complete your glowy look and create an eye-catching effect. Therefore, it makes sense to place it on the bridge of the nose. But remember to blend it well so that there is no straight line left under the nose.
